Mwase has been with BoHA since the beginning. He began as a Community School Teacher (volunteer) with a 12th grade education. He has been teaching for six years.
Currently he teaches a combination class, 6th and 7th grade English and History.
He has been taking distance classes for his teaching certification for one year now.
His fiancee, Mary, is studying to be a nurse.
"I became a teacher because I hate ignorance. Passion for knowledge is to be perpetuated."

Lazarous is the rotating teacher and supports grade 8.
He has been 1 year in this position and has completed his education through 12th grade.
He will take teacher certification courses.
He was one of the original sponsored orphans 8 years ago when B of H began the work of making connections in Zambia to support children.
He has recently discovered his gift and love of teaching.
Why teaching?

He has always desired to open his own school. He himself is an orphan; he has always had a heart for the suffering of orphans.
Educational Goal: He would love to further his own education by getting a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
Why did you want to become a teacher/principal?
"I admired my school principal when I was young in the primary grade. I grew up an orphan, so I know what orphans need while at school. It is to me orphan to orphan relationship. He who feels it knows it."

Why did you become a teacher?
"I love imparting knowledge in other people. I was born to be a teacher."
"My parents died when I was in grade 3. I know how it feels to be an orphan. That's why I love my students very much."
Mwase Sakala
First Grade Teacher for 2 years
Education Goal: Monica has her teaching certification and is working on her degree at the University. This is equivalent to a Bachelor of Arts in the United States. In Zambia, you get teacher certification after two years and then go on to earn the degree. She would like to get a PhD. eventually.
Why did you become a teacher?
"Because of the passion that I have for children."
